Raja Devasish Roy Inaugurates Baishabi Festival, Calls for Peace and Unity

Raja Barrister Devasish Roy formally inaugurated the four-day Baishabi festival, a cornerstone event for the ethnic communities of the CHT. Amidst a colorful rally and traditional performances, the Raja addressed the gathering, noting that festivals like Biju and Sangrai are not merely celebrations but symbols of the resilience and identity of the Jumma people.
In his address, the Raja reiterated the importance of land rights and the peaceful resolution of regional disputes. He encouraged the community to maintain social cohesion and urged the government to accelerate the implementation of the CHT Accord to ensure sustainable development and justice for all hill residents.
