Digitizing the Hills: A Step Towards Smart Governance
How the Chakma Circle is embracing digital tools to streamline certificate issuance and land record management for citizens.

In an era of rapid digital transformation, the Chakma Circle Administration is taking significant steps to modernize its services. Historically, obtaining documents like Permanent Resident Certificates (PRC) or recommendation letters required citizens to travel long distances from remote villages to the Rajbari.
With the launch of our new digital initiatives, we aim to bridge this distance. The administration is working on a centralized database to digitize land records and streamline the application process for essential documents. This move towards “Smart Governance” will not only reduce the hassle for the people of the Hill Tracts but also ensure greater transparency and speed in administrative functions.
